MONTREAL, April 8 /CNW Telbec/ - This year, a Grand Créa award was given
to the "Adidas" advertising campaign from adidas Originals and a another one
to the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux's campaign against
pathological gambling. The winning campaigns were created respectively by the
advertising agencies Sid Lee and Lg2.
It is the first time two Grand Créa awards are given since the creation
of this contest in 2005. Even if both advertising campaigns represent two
different streams of communication, they both have one element in common: the
quality of their execution.
Adidas: Quebec's influence
Not only did the jury wanted to highlight the creativity and the
impeccable quality of execution of the Adidas campaign, but also the arrival
of a turning point in branding communication. Indeed, this campaign shows that
creativity in Quebec can cross borders and achieve international recognition.
MSSS: A powerful message
Members of the jury insisted on giving a Grand Créa award to the campaign
of the Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux. Indeed, the remarkable
integration of various communication supports deserved to be recognized. This
"grand idea" simple and effective carried a strong message combined to the
quality of its execution.
Campaigns that stand out
Many other campaigns received an award including the Bombartier ad (Taxi
Canada) broadcasted during the Beijing Olympic Games; the Lunetterie Sears'
campaign supported in print, television and poster formats; and the print
campaign for the Rendez-vous naval de Québec (Lg2).
This year, over sixty agencies and advertisers submitted close to 800 ads
in over 25 categories. At this fourth edition of the Créa Awards, 20 Grand
Prizes were awarded on top of the two Grand Créa awards, as well as an
additional 56 Awards. In total, over 40 advertisers and 11 agencies received
