HALIFAX, June 24 /CNW/ - Local public relations practitioners, Nadia
Hinds APR, of MT & L Public Relations and Karen White and Michelle Wright of
Conserve Nova Scotia, have been recognized for Communications Excellence
during the national Canadian Public Relations Conference in Vancouver, B.C. on
June 9, 2009.
Ms. Hinds received a Gold award in the Government Relations category for
"Building Community Support for Nova Scotia's Largest Wind Energy Project."
Ms. White was presented with a Silver award in the audio-visual project
category for "Home Energy Upgrades: How-To Video."
A Bronze award went to Ms. Wright in the internal communication category
for "Rethink- greener choices at work."
"The Canadian Public Relations Society Awards of Excellence program
recognizes outstanding achievement in a comprehensive public relations project
or program. Peers compete for the distinction of producing some of the
industry(1)s most innovative work in the practice of public relations and are
chosen for their ethical communications practices and strategic business
CPRS Nova Scotia has been serving public relations practitioners in Nova
Scotia since 1957. The chapter provides professional development for its
members and liaises with post secondary public relations programs and
students. It also organizes the Atlantic Gemstone Awards, which recognize
public relations practitioners from the Atlantic region who have made
outstanding contributions to the profession and who demonstrate innovation and
creativity in communications programming.
