Convocation: Access to English schooling, curriculum reform, future of boards likely to dominate campaign - QESBA to unveil school board elections plan

MONTREAL, Sept. 17 /CNW Telbec/ - The Quebec English School Boards
Association (QESBA) will hold a news conference later this week to launch its
information and awareness campaign on school board elections, to be held on
Sunday, November 4th, 2007. Each of the 161 commissioners' posts at the nine
English school boards across Quebec is up for election on that day. School
boards represent the elected level of government that is closest to the
population. They are responsible for all major policy decisions governing the
delivery of English schooling across the province.
QESBA President, Marcus Tabachnick will be accompanied at the news
conference by the other members of the QESBA Executive Committee as well as a
number of the Chairs of Quebec's nine English school boards. In addition to
reviewing this comprehensive information and awareness initiative, QESBA will
highlight some of the major issues likely to dominate the upcoming school
board election campaign.

The news conference will be held:

At the offices of QESBA, 1410 Stanley St.,
Montreal, on the 8th floor in Salle #8 on
                 Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at 10:30 a.m.
