Concordia University to present Honorary Degrees to Seven Distinguished Individuals



    MONTREAL, June 5 /CNW Telbec/ - Concordia University will bestow seven
honorary doctorates (Doctor of Laws) during Spring Convocation ceremonies to
be held June 7-9, 2009. More than 4,057 students will receive their degrees
during six convocation ceremonies at Salle Wilfrid Pelletier in Place des Arts
(175 Ste.Catherine Street West).

    
    The recipients this year are:

    Sunday, June 7, 2009
    10:00 am: Andrée Lajoie, lawyer and professor
    2:30 pm: Roger Abbott and Don Ferguson, co-founders of CBC radio and
    television's The Royal Canadian Air Farce
    7:00 pm:  Jean Béliveau, professional hockey player and philanthropist

    Monday, June 8, 2009
    10:00 am: Richard J. Renaud, industrialist and philanthropist

    Tuesday, June 9, 2009
    10:00 am: N.R. Narayana Murthy, industrialist and co-founder of Infosys
    2:30 pm:  Mel Hoppenheim, entrepreneur and philanthropist
