Concordia Graduate Held by Iranian Government

MONTREAL, June 22 /CNW Telbec/ - The Concordia Student Union (CSU)
condemns the detention by the Iranian government of Maziar Bahari, Concordia
alumnus and Newsweek reporter. The CSU is calling for his immediate release.
We are also calling on the Canadian government to not only condemn this
detention but also seek his swift release.
"We call for international solidarity to act against the severe human
rights abuses in Iran", said Amine Dabchy, President of the student union.

The CSU has spent the last 30 years representing undergraduate students,
which now number more than 30,000, at Concordia University in Montreal.
