TORONTO, March 12 /CNW/ - Looking for an environmentally sensitive and
privacy ensured method to dispose of your unwanted computer equipment? Leave
it with Computation!
Did you know that aside from the hazards that go along with burying
electronics in landfills or shipping them overseas for disposal, approximately
1000 liters of clean fresh water, 20Kg of chemicals, and 300Kg of fossil fuel
equivalent are consumed in the mining, manufacturing, and distribution
associated with a new computer?
From March 22nd - 28th, Computation and Big Brothers and Sisters of
Toronto are inviting the general public to drop-off their unwanted computer
equipment for reuse and recycling. A proportion of the computer systems
collected will be refurbished and donated to families affiliated with Big
Brothers and Sisters. Computation in Toronto has just moved to 280 Jane
Street. Drop off your equipment at our great new space, parking is available,
from 10:00am until 7:00pm Monday through Friday and from 10:00am until 6:00pm
The event is free for residential quantities of equipment, with the
exception of a $5 recycling fee for each monitor collected. Businesses,
individuals with large quantities, and those with requirements such as pick-up
or asset management should contact us about our services. All information
present on systems will be securely destroyed. All equipment is diverted from
landfill and processed locally.
Computation is a computer equipment refurbisher, recycler, and IT service
provider committed to the 3R's hierarchy.
