OTTAWA, April 15 /CNW Telbec/ - NAV CANADA today announced the successful
conclusion of collective bargaining with the Canadian Air Traffic Control
Association (CATCA) Local 5454 which represents approximately 2300 Air Traffic
Members of CATCA voted in favour of the tentative agreement reached on
March 29, 2009. The new collective agreement runs until March 31, 2011, and
provides for wage increases of 1 per cent on April 1, 2009, 1 per cent on
October 1, 2009 and 1 per cent on April 1, 2010, followed by a 1.5 per cent
increase on October 1, 2010.
"I am very pleased that the parties were able to achieve an agreement
within days of the expiry of the old contract," said John Crichton, President
and CEO of NAV CANADA. "NAV CANADA is committed to successfully concluding the
current round of collective bargaining with all of our unions as quickly as
possible while respecting the current economic conditions".
