OTTAWA, April 18 /CNW Telbec/ - Focusing on integrated care and
collaboration, the Royal Ottawa Mental Health Centre, the University of Ottawa
Institute of Mental Health Research, the Canadian Mental Health Association,
Ottawa Branch and the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Ottawa
have partnered to organize the region's first Mental Health Symposium.
The presenters represent the complete spectrum of the mental health
system including housing, hospital, workplace mental health and consumer
perspectives, covering all ages and various mental illnesses. Over 300 people,
including family physicians, consumers, families, clinicians and policy
planners are registered for the symposium.
Organizers believe attendees will have the opportunity to network and
share knowledge and perspectives on many specific and practical issues related
to health care including:
- depression in children;
- ADHD in adults;
- sleep disorders;
- combating stigma;
- mental health in the workplace;
- housing for people with mental illness.
