Former Hyperion, Siebel, and Oracle executive to lead Cognos alliances
OTTAWA, AND BURLINGTON, MASS., March 13 /CNW/ - Cognos (Nasdaq: COGN;

management solutions, today announced that Mel Zeledon has joined the company
as senior vice president, global alliances. Mr. Zeledon will be responsible
for leading the company's alliances strategy, field alignment and execution on
a global basis.
Mr. Zeledon joins Cognos with more than 22 years of leadership experience
in the enterprise software industry. Prior to joining Cognos, Mr. Zeledon
served as vice president of partner sales at Hyperion Solutions, where he
managed the company's global systems integration partners. Earlier in his
career, Mr. Zeledon led global strategic alliance relationships at Siebel
Systems, co-founded and led sales and alliances at application service
provider Applicast, and founded and managed the Oracle Corporation subsidiary
and resellers in Central America. Mr. Zeledon, who has B.S. in Electrical
Engineering degree from the University of Costa Rica, was a Fulbright Scholar
at Stanford University, where he earned a Masters in Computer Science.
