CO-BRANDED TIM HORTONS AND COLD STONE CREAMERY RESTAURANT OPENS ON HALIFAX WATERFRONT

Grand opening celebration to take place on Friday, June 17th

HALIFAX, June 16, 2011 /CNW/ - The newest co-branded Tim Hortons and Cold Stone Creamery restaurant is now open on the prominent Halifax waterfront located at the corner of George St. and Lower Water St. To celebrate, a grand opening party is planned on Friday, June 17th and the first 300 guests to arrive between noon and 2 p.m. will receive a free Like ItTM size ice cream Creation!

The restaurant, inspired by downtown Halifax, has a layout and colour scheme that gives it a unique urban look and feel. The co-branded location is 2,700 square feet with room to seat almost 50 guests in both the dining room and outdoor patio.

"We are excited about the opportunity to serve the downtown core," said Greg Smith, Senior Manager, Regional Marketing, Tim Hortons. "We think guests will really enjoy the atmosphere at this location and how it reflects the great city of Halifax - especially during ice cream season!"

A unique relationship between Tim Hortons and Cold Stone Creamery allows guests to enjoy the coffee and baked goods they love as well as premium, fresh ice cream all at one location.

Cold Stone Creamery's premium ice cream is made fresh in every restaurant.  To experience Cold Stone, guests simply choose their cone or cup size - Like ItTM, Love ItTM, Gotta Have ItTM - ice cream or sorbet and any number of countless mix-ins such as fruit, nuts, candies and other toppings. A team member mixes the selections with spades on a chilled granite stone, and the Creation is presented to the guest as The Ultimate Ice Cream Experience®. Guests can also enjoy Cold Stone Creamery's take-home treats such as ice cream cookie sandwiches, cupcakes, pies and cakes.
