of Ontario (CMA Ontario) is pleased to announce the first graduating class of
its new Ottawa "Executive CMA Program".
The first graduating class featured senior management personnel drawn
from a widely diverse background, including public sector CFOs.
First launched in 2000 in Toronto, the "Executive CMA Program" was
established to meet demand for the financial management skills and
competencies represented by the CMA designation. To apply for the program,
candidates are required to possess a university degree and at least five years
of senior strategic leadership experience in business or in complex

of colleagues and moderators from diverse industries and backgrounds, to
explore and apply emerging business practices.

In Year 1 of the program, candidates complete foundation studies in a
breadth of business disciplines such as Management Accounting, Corporate
Finance, Strategic Management and International Business. In Year 2,
participants complete an executive version of the CMA "Strategic Leadership
Program," exploring how contemporary techniques in strategy, management
accounting, marketing and IT guide strategic planning and implementation
through all phrases of an organization's product/service life cycle.
