Practice Solutions gets 15-year exclusivity agreement to provide
centrally-hosted CMS ASP Offering under Ontario funding program
OTTAWA, Oct. 22 /CNW Telbec/ - Practice Solutions Software is pleased to
announce that the new Application Service Provider (ASP) version of its
popular Practice Solutions(R) Suite Clinical Management System (CMS) is one of
just two new ASP Offerings selected by OntarioMD for eligible Ontario doctors,
following a rigorous competition.
The new Practice Solutions(R) Suite ASP Offering operates from a central
location over a secure network. It offers all the same features as the already
certified Local Offering. The Practice Solutions Suite Local Offering is the
most widely-used Electronic Medical Record (EMR) solution in Ontario. It is
currently used by more than 3,000 physicians in over 1,000 practices to manage
more than 1.5 million electronic patient records in Canada.
Practice Solutions Suite combines EMR with automated alerts for drug and
treatment conflicts; patient management and scheduling; and automated billing
and reporting, into a comprehensive, easy-to-use CMS enabling medical
practitioners to improve delivery of services and devote more time to patient
Based on more than two decades of delivering CMS Offerings, Practice
Solutions Software designed and developed Practice Solutions Suite to exceed
the province's mandate for deployment of CMS to physicians. Under the Ontario
government's Physician IT Program, eligible physicians will be able to receive
funding of up to $28,600 to acquire the Practice Solutions Suite ASP Offering
once it completes OntarioMD's certification process.
"We are pleased to announce the selection of Practice Solutions as one of
our two new CMS ASP Offerings," said Brian Forster, Chief Executive Officer of
OntarioMD. "Practice Solutions worked hard to produce an Offering which
withstood a rigorous Request for Proposals (RFP) process to achieve this
status." Practice Solutions Suite ASP Offering was one of the top two
offerings from 12 vendors who submitted proposals to OntarioMD. A third CMS
ASP Offering was approved in 2005 and all three Offerings received a 15-year
license under the Physician IT Program.
"We see the selection of the Practice Solutions Suite ASP by OntarioMD as
a tremendous step that enhances patient care - not only in Ontario, but across
Canada," said Rob Thorpe, President of Practice Solutions Software. "Practice
Solutions Suite is a well-recognized and trusted CMS Offering and has
consistently set the bar high in terms of the most successful and satisfied
Practice Solutions Suite ASP is backed by the Canadian Medical
Association and is designed for doctors by doctors. Practice Solutions Suite
ASP is the only CMS to operate seamlessly on PC or Mac platforms.
"We offer a version of Practice Solutions Suite to meet every
practitioner's level of satisfaction, comfort and need in adopting electronic
medical records and clinical management systems," said Mr. Thorpe. "Our
comprehensive training program helps physicians and their staff transition
effortlessly from paper to electronic records. New users are able to use core
features within hours because the CMS has a very familiar look and feel to the
paper records they have always used."
Practice Solutions Suite Local Offering is already certified by OntarioMD
and eligible for funding today. Practice Solutions Suite ASP will be funding
eligible once the Offering completes OntarioMD's certification process.
