TORONTO, April 23 /CNW/ - The Board of Directors of l'Office des
télécommunications éducatives de langue française de l'Ontario (OTELFO) is
proud to announce the appointment of Ms. Claudette Paquin as Chief Executive
Officer of the new organization.
Ms. Paquin has been the Managing Director of French Programming (TFO) for
TVOntario since July 2000. A dynamic yet grounded leader, Claudette Paquin
values team work and recognizes strong opportunities to contribute to the
development of French communities. The Board is unanimous in finding in
Ms. Paquin the ideal leader to guide TFO toward a very promising future.
The Chair of the Board, Mrs. Gisèle Chrétien, indicates that in her new
functions, Claudette Paquin will be responsible for the successful creation
and implementation of this new Franco-Ontarian institution. She adds, "We are
convinced that Ms. Paquin has what it takes, along with the outstanding TFO
team, the Board and the communities themselves, to make TFO a great success."
For her part, Ms Paquin declares, "I am absolutely grateful to have been
chosen to lead TFO during these very exciting times!" Among her principal
goals is to maintain and reinforce the relationship between TFO and the
education milieu, as well as to maximize the role that TFO can play in the
economic development of the Franco-Ontarian community.
Claudette Paquin has a bachelor's degree from the University of Ottawa
and a Masters in Business Administration from Queen's University in Kingston.
Her new duties begin effective April 23, 2007.
