TORONTO, Feb. 25 /CNW/ -- Cision, the leading provider of media research,
distribution, monitoring and analysis services to the public relations
industry, today announced QuickAlert, a service that enables Canadian
communications professionals to comprehensively monitor television coverage in
QuickAlert exploits the power of Cision's television monitoring
capability -- the most comprehensive in Canada -- by collecting television
news results that affect Cision clients (and their competition) and delivering
email alerts to those clients within 30 minutes of broadcast.
It enables communicators to rapidly access and respond to television
coverage; quickly disseminate information throughout their organization; make
better and more informed communications decisions; better understand events
impacting their industry; and manage coverage more efficiently and
"Accessible from anywhere, and anytime, QuickAlert gives you the ability
to stay fully informed and respond to opportunities and challenges offered by
both breaking TV news and less-urgent stories," said Phil Crompton, General
Manager of Cision Canada and Senior VP, Broadcast Monitoring, Cision North
America. "It's a must-have capability in a crisis, in addition to improving
the productivity and responsiveness of day-to-day communications operations."
For its QuickAlert service, Cision continuously monitors 100 Canadian
television stations, the most in the industry. QuickAlert leverages this
extensive coverage and is built on the leading-edge technology of Cision
MediaSource Monitoring. Its easy-to-use web portal gives users 24/7 access to
monitored content and also lets them immediately preview video, and order
transcripts, CDs, DVDs and tapes. Its custom clipping tool allows users to
edit, stream and save video segments more accurately.
QuickAlert is the latest member of a suite of broadcast services offered
by Cision Canada. Others include FastFinder, which provides instant and rapid
access to Cision's database of over 20 million monitor notes from radio and
television news and public affairs programming spanning the past two years;
Flat-fee Closed-Captioning, which provides CC text for all television media
coverage for one fee; and Digital Bundles, pre-paid volume packages for
