CIRI Alberta Recognizes Top Investor Relations Professionals at 4th Annual Awards Gala

CALGARY, Sept. 21 /CNW/ - Leading investor relations professionals from
across Alberta were recognized last night at the 4th Annual Canadian Investor
Relations Institute (CIRI) Alberta Awards Gala at the Metropolitan Centre in
Calgary.
Keynote speaker Randall J. Findlay, oil patch veteran and accomplished
philanthropist, emphasized the integral role IR professionals play in
facilitating effective communications between public companies and their key
stakeholders.
"This year's award winners made outstanding contributions to IR and
should be proud of their accomplishments," said Paul Beique, CIRI Alberta
President.

The past year has been particularly challenging for income trusts, many
of which are Calgary based oil and gas royalty trusts. CIRI recognizes the
efforts of the Coalition of Canadian Energy Trusts (CCET) and the Canadian
Association of Income Funds (CAIF) and the individuals of those organizations
who have taken the lead in the fight against trust taxation.

        CCET Recognition:

Sue Riddell Rose, Paramount Energy Trust
        John Dielwart, ARC Energy Trust
        Gord Kerr, Enerplus Resources Fund
Bill Andrew, Penn West Energy Trust
Marcel Coutu, Canadian Oil Sands Trust

        CAIF Recognition:

        George Kestevan, PrimeWest Energy

The event also served as a fundraiser for the Alberta Children's Hospital
Foundation (ACHF), an organization that raises funds for excellence in child
health and family centred care. The event raised over $10,000 for the ACHF.
