CIBC'S client website tops this year's ranking among Canadian banks reviewed by leading research firm



    TORONTO, April 13 /CNW/ - CIBC's client website www.cibc.com tops this
year's ranking among the large Canadian banks reviewed in 2007 by Forrester, a
leading U.S.-based independent technology and market research company.
    Forrester used a variety of criteria to evaluate the various banks'
websites and review their ease of use and the value they offer clients.
Forrester's assessment included navigation, presentation and research, and
online application content functionality for both chequing accounts and credit
cards.
    "CIBC topped this year's rankings by excelling in many of the key
assessment areas, including Web site navigation and presentation, along with
providing strong content and tools," Cambridge-based Forrester stated in its
April 2007 report entitled 2007 Canadian Bank Public Web Site Rankings.

    Specific strengths of CIBC's website cited by Forrester include:

     -  Access to product information areas: "On the CIBC site, users can
        quickly get to the credit card or checking and savings area."

     -  Making key product attributes easy to find: "CIBC provides an
        attribute box on its product pages to clearly call out those elements
        and make them easy to find."

     -  Helping users make product decisions: "CIBC's credit card home page
        includes links like "Choose a Card" and "Compare Cards."

     -  Preparing the shopper to apply for a product: "CIBC provides a new
        best practice example of this."

     -  Focus on convenience in the fulfillment process: "According to our
        review, only one firm - CIBC - provides an instant decision online"
        for existing customers who apply for a deposit account.
