Christian financial professionals to receive accreditation

    OTTAWA, April 27 /CNW Telbec/ - May 30-31, 2007 Nottawasaga, ON. The
third, annual national Called to Purpose conference of the Christian financial
professionals' network, ADVISORS with Purpose(TM) will introduce the very
first recipients of the newly created Christian Financial Counselor (CFC)
accreditation.
Christian Financial Counselor (CFC) conferees are members in good
standing who have successfully completed the ADVISORS with Purpose
requirements for professional education, training and development; have
demonstrated knowledge and understanding of spiritual wisdom and stewardship
principles and are committed to developing and maintaining their practice from
a biblical perspective.
Sponsored by The Canadian National Christian Foundation, the ADVISORS
with Purpose(TM) network is dedicated to helping Christian advisors bridge the
gap between modern financial practices and life changing, biblical financial
principles. The goal is to help clients realize greater economic and spiritual
benefits and impact God's Kingdom at the same time.
This year's conference, themed, Success to Significance, will culminate
with an in-depth, interactive workshop with Lloyd Reeb, author of "Success to
Significance" and spokesman for the Halftime organization. The speaker line-up
includes a Wednesday night kick-off with Rev. Charles Price, Pastor of The
Peoples Church in Toronto. Other presenters include Tim Cestnick, best known
for his column Tax Matters appearing regularly in The Globe and Mail as well
as his regular contributions on Canada AM and a variety of Canadian radio and
television program; and Jonathan Wellum, Chief Executive Officer for AIC
Investment Services.
It is estimated that there are more than 1000 Christian financial
professional advisors across Canada, including financial planners,
accountants, mortgage brokers, money managers, stock brokers, insurance
agents, and estate lawyers. Membership numbers for the ADVISORS with Purpose
network continue to grow as Christian advisors begin to recognize God's call
on their lives and come together to learn and study biblical wisdom and
encourage each other to live it out in their practices.
Speaking on behalf of ADVISORS with Purpose(TM), Rick Harper, VP Member
Services, said, "As Christian financial advisors we carry a great
responsibility to give biblical advice to our clients and to help them learn
how to spend, give, save and invest in a way that has eternal significance. We
have been uniquely gifted by God to take leadership in this area and make a
difference in the lives of our clients, churches and communities."
"Just imagine", said Harper "if, through the education and training of
this network, 500 financial advisors across Canada were each able to show 50
clients how to increase their giving to Christian charities by $1000 per year.
That would put an additional $25 million into God's work."
Many ministries, charities and media representatives will also be in
attendance to connect with advisors and attend the seminars.
