Christian Blind Mission International Announces New US CEO



    GREENVILLE, SC, April 3 /CNW/ - Ronald R. Nabors has been named Chief
Executive Officer of Christian Blind Mission International - US (CBMI-US),
whose American headquarters are located in Greenville, S.C. CBMI is the
world's largest international nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of
life for blind and disabled people living in the world's most disadvantaged
societies by providing preventative, medical, rehabilitative and educational
services.
    Nabors brings more than 30 years of executive management experience to
his new role. Prior to joining CBMI-US, Nabors held executive positions within
two software companies as Senior Vice President of Sales and Chief Marketing
Officer for Isogon Corporation in New York and Senior Vice President of
Worldwide Sales and Chief Marketing Officer for Tangram Enterprise Solutions
in Cary, N.C. He also was Vice President of Field Operations for Bell & Howell
Company at Research Triangle Park, N.C. for 10 years. In addition, he served
as President and CEO of Remington Pitney Bowes LTD based in Sydney, Australia
for 16 years - having held various other positions within the company
previously. He attended Georgetown College in Georgetown, Kentucky.
    As CEO of CBMI-US, Nabors will guide the organization's national
operations and fundraising, while representing the U.S. arm of the
organization internationally.

    CBMI provides services to more than 12 million people living in
impoverished countries through 1,000 projects in 113 countries. Annually, CBMI
sponsors more than 650,000 cataract operations and provides vocational
rehabilitation to nearly 100,000 blind people. In addition, the organization
supports more than 120 schools and programs for deaf and hearing-impaired
individuals, provides orthopedic services to 118,000 people, and distributes
preventative medicine to more than 4 million people annually.
