CALGARY, Dec. 6 /CNW/ - Cheung Kong Infrastructure Holdings Limited
(CKI), today announced that its indirect wholly-owned subsidiary,
Stanley Power Inc. (the Offeror) has paid for and acquired all of the limited
partnership units (Units) of TransAlta Power, L.P. (TransAlta Power) (TSX:
TPW.UN), pursuant to an offer to purchase by the Offeror dated Oct. 29, 2007
and a compulsory acquisition. In addition, an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary
of CKI has acquired the general partnership interest in TransAlta Power held
by TransAlta Power Ltd., the general partner of TransAlta Power.
TransAlta Power is now an indirect wholly-owned subsidiary of CKI.
It is expected that an application will be made to de-list TransAlta
Power from the TSX and to terminate TransAlta Power's status as a reporting
CKI is the largest publicly listed infrastructure company in Hong Kong
