TORONTO, April 5 /CNW/ - Multiple award-winning singer/songwriter Chantal
Kreviazuk has partnered with Rogers and Nokia, to film her new video for the
smash single "Wonderful," entirely on two Nokia Nseries mobile phones. The
video was conceptualized by SONY BMG MUSIC (CANADA) to be filmed using a Nokia
Nseries handset and was shot in Los Angeles last month at six unique
locations. This marks the first time a major record label has partnered with a
mobile phone manufacturer to shoot a music video for widespread servicing on
national television outlets.

Also featured in the video, is the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic phone, the only
mobile phone available in Canada that is both fully compatible with the Rogers
MusicStore and also Windows DRM compatible, giving consumers the ultimate in
flexibility when it comes to accessing music over the air from the Rogers
MusicStore or sideloading music from a PC using a USB cable.
Filming on the small Nokia Nseries handheld device allowed the shoot to
be more intimate and organic with a conceptual freedom that is not usually
realized on big budget, locational video shoots. On the experience, Chantal
commented: "it felt fluid and easy and you could feel more spontaneous and
impulsive with your emotions as an artist. On a regular video shoot, every
shot of film is planned, frame by frame, and this was quite liberating."
With the Nokia mobile phone in hand, director Kathi Prosser didn't have
to follow the rules of a tradition production. On the experience, Kathi
commented: "it was spontaneous, liberating, impulsive and intimate. It was so
refreshing to go with the flow, capture an artist in life as it happens and
with something so small - no intimidation, no posturing - just the pure power
"The success of the Nokia 5300 has shown that consumers want music
phones," said Paul Chapple, General Manager, Nokia Canada. "Nokia is looking
forward to bringing even more advanced NSeries products to Canada with Rogers
in the future."
"Wonderful" is the second single from Chantal's fourth studio album Ghost
Stories, released in August 2006. One of the most respected artists and
songwriters in North America, Chantal has amassed total career sales of more
than 650,000 units, has written songs for the likes of Avril Lavigne, Gwen
Stefani and Kelly Clarkson and has performed on some of the biggest
soundtracks of the last decade.
Chantal is also the spokesperson for Garnier Nutrisse Cream and is
devoted to numerous charitable causes including War Child Canada, the Canadian
Women's Foundation, MAC Fashion Cares, the BC Cancer Research Centre and the
Concert For Tsunami Relief.
