Changes to CAC Board of Directors



    OTTAWA, March 28 /CNW Telbec/ - The Cement Association of Canada (CAC) is
pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Jim Brown, President and Chief
Operating Officer of Lehigh Northwest Cement Limited, as Chairman of its Board
of Directors, effective March 19, 2007. He succeeds Mr. Alan Kreisberg, who
stepped down after serving as Chairman for two years, and will remain on the
Board as a member representative.
    Jim Brown is President and Chief Operating Officer of Lehigh Northwest
Cement Limited, the British Columbia-based subsidiary of Lehigh Cement
Company, since January 2004. In addition, he has overall responsibility for
the Lehigh Pacific Region on the west coast of North America. Lehigh is the
North American arm of Heidelberg Cement, a leading global cement company. Jim
Brown started his career in the cement industry in 1976 with Inland Cement,
also now a Lehigh company. During the course of his career, he has held
positions of increasing responsibility in western Canada, California and
Pennsylvania. Jim has a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University
of Saskatchewan - Regina.
    Pierre Boucher, President and CEO of the Cement Association of Canada,
stated, "We welcome Mr. Brown as Chairman and are sure that he will be a
worthy successor to Mr. Kreisberg. We owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Kreisberg
for his service as Chairman during the last two years."

    The Cement Association of Canada represents 100% of the Canadian cement
producers and is the national and regional voice of Canada's cement industry.
Its members include nine companies with clinker and cement manufacturing
facilities, granulators, grinding facilities and cement terminals from coast
to coast. Together with concrete producers, the industry contributed over
$6.6 billion to the economy in 2006 and accounted for more than
26,000 Canadian jobs. The CAC's mandate is to increase and expand appropriate
use of cement and concrete in Canada. Through partnerships in marketing,
public affairs, engineering, education and technical support, the Cement
Association of Canada seeks to advance the contributions that cement and
concrete make to vibrant communities, a healthy/sustainable environment and a
competitive economy.
