Funds to research use of management accounting practices in Canadian
TORONTO, Nov. 23 /CNW/ - The Certified Management Accountants of Ontario
(CMA Ontario) is pleased to announce a further commitment to its continued
partnership with the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa.
The ongoing relationship with the CMA Ontario accredited Bachelor of
Commerce (Honours) program with accounting specialization, will support
research into the use of management accounting techniques in Canadian
On November 23, Merv Hillier, CEO and President of CMA Ontario, will
present a $20,000 cheque to Associate Dean Francois Julien at the 9th annual
"Not for Bean Counters Breakfast and Networking Event", an on-campus function
where students and Ottawa area business leaders will meet and interact.
"Over the past two decades the role and tools of the management
accountant have changed drastically. The strengthened partnership with CMA
Ontario will help us research and better understand techniques of modern
accounting practices such as the balanced score card and activity based
costing," said Ron Eden, Associate Professor at the Telfer School of
