    Cassels Brock teams up with The Health Technology Exchange (HTX) to give
    SMEs an advantage
    

    TORONTO, Sept. 24 /CNW/ - Health technology entrepreneurs that require
expert opinions on sourcing investment funds, structuring deals and shaping
shareholder agreements will benefit from the interactive panel discussion at
the upcoming October 15 Bootcamp taking place at the MaRS Collaboration
Centre. Both Cassels Brock (www.casselsbrock.com) and HTX (www.htx.ca) agree
entrepreneurs can take advantage of the lessons learned by fellow
experts-peers in the Health technology sector.

    
    The first in its quarterly series, the CEO Entrepreneur Bootcamp runs
Wed., Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Speakers include:

    -   Mike Doell, co-founder, partner, Ross + Doell Design. Mr. Doell
        worked as a freelance designer for Bata Footwear and Sprint Canada
        before joining the research and development team at Bloorview Kids
        Rehab, where he designed products for children with special needs. In
        1999 he joined Hetherington Welch Design and worked with clients
        including Motorola, MDS Nordion, Scientific Atlanta and Trane Corp.
        In 2001 he partnered with Alex Ross to found Ross + Doell, a Toronto-
        based design studio, specializing in industrial design and brand
        development.
    -   Fraser Shein, president/CEO, Quillsoft Ltd. Dr. Shein is also a
        scientist at Bloorview Kids Rehab. He is an internationally
        recognized expert in computer accessibility for individuals with
        disabilities. His research team has developed and commercialized
        software applications to benefit students with disabilities,
        including WiViK on-screen keyboard, WordQ Writing software and
        SpeechQ speech recognition software. Dr. Shein is also assistant
        professor at the University of Toronto in the Institute of
        Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering (IBBME) and the Graduate
        department of Rehabilitation Science.
    -   Stuart English, partner, Cassels Brock & Blackwell LLP. Mr. English
        practices corporate and commercial law. He has expertise in M & A
        transactions among investment dealers and transactions involving
        pharmaceutical and healthcare companies. He advises clients on
        corporate/commercial matters including shareholder and partnership
        agreements, corporate governance matters, stock option and employee
        incentive plans as well as manufacturing, distribution and licensing
        agreements.
    

    Admission to the event is $40 for www.htx.ca registered users, $60 for
non www.htx.ca registered users. Breakfast is served at 9 a.m., and panel
