Centraide of Greater Montreal elects nine new directors



    MONTREAL, June 13 /CNW Telbec/ - Centraide of Greater Montreal yesterday
held its annual general meeting at which it elected nine new directors:
Alan Allnutt, Publisher and General Manager of The Gazette; David Birnbaum,
Executive Director of the Quebec English School Boards Association;
Bergman Fleury(*), Intercultural Relations Consultant; Marie Gagnon, Executive
Director of the Fondation René Malo; Pierre Giard, Executive Director of the
Société de transport de Laval (STL); Marie-Madeleine Lafrenière, Strategic
Affairs Adviser with the City of Montreal Police Service; David McAusland,
Executive Vice-President for Corporate Development and Chief Legal Officer of
Alcan Inc.; Claude Séguin, Senior Vice-President for Finance and Strategic
Investments of CGI; and Jacques Spencer, President and CEO of Développement
économique de Longueuil.
    Centraide's Board of Directors also appointed James C. Cherry(*), President
and CEO of Aéroports de Montréal, as Treasurer; and reappointed
Yves Sanssouci(*), President and CEO of CRIM, as Chair of the Board of
Directors; Claude Léger(*), Director General of the City of Montreal, as
Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors; Lili de Grandpré(*), Managing Director of
CenCEO Consulting, as Chair of the Allocations and Agency Relations Committee;
and Constance Middleton-Hope(*), Lay Minister with the Anglican Diocese of
Montreal, as Secretary of the Corporation.
    The 30 community leaders serving as volunteers on Centraide of Greater
Montreal's Board of Directors for 2007-2008 also include Chantal Aznavourian,
Administrative Assistant with the Chantier de l'Economie Sociale Trust;
Mary- Ann Bell, Chief Operating Officer for Quebec of Bell Aliant Regional
Communications; Hélène Bohémier, Director of Social Development and Tenant
Relations at the Office municipal d'habitation de Montréal; Danielle Casara,
Acting Secretary General of the Conseil régional FTQ, Montréal Métropolitain;
Francine Cléroux, Assistant Vice-President for Public and Corporate Affairs of
Sun Life Financial; Sheila Goldbloom, Retired Professor at McGill University;
Stella Guy, Associate Executive Director of the City of Montreal;
Alice Herscovitch(*), Director of Social Development at CRE de Montréal; Benoît
Lévesque, Professor of Sociology at UQAM and ENAP; Pierre Monahan, Executive

board of directors which is representative of the community. It serves the
Island of Montreal, Laval, and communities on the South Shore. Centraide of
Greater Montreal supports 360 community-based agencies and projects which
offer help and comfort to more than half a million people in need. It relies
on a network of over 72,000 volunteers.
