Catholic Education: A National Conversation To Converge on Nations Capital



    OTTAWA, Sept. 24 /CNW Telbec/ - "This is the first ever gathering of its
kind within the Catholic Education Community, rather historical and the
excitement is certainly building!", states Paula Peroni, Chair for the
upcoming conference being hosted by the Canadian Catholic School Trustee
Association at the Crowne Plaza in Ottawa on September 26-27, 2008.
    "We are bringing educators, parents, trustees - all of our partners
together to celebrate Catholic education from coast to coast and to examine
opportunities for the future of our vibrant Catholic schools," explained
Peroni "After 20 years it was time to make this concept a reality and we are
very happy with the response from across Canada" says Regis O'Connor, CCSTA
President.
    Keynote speakers are Sister Joan Cronin, Nobel Peace Prize recipient Dr.
James Orbinski, Constitutional Expert Kevin Feehan, Chaplain Wayne Lachapelle
and Bishop Paul-André Durocher.
    Archbishop Prendergast of Ottawa will celebrate the closing Mass Saturday
afternoon.
    "Our Catholic schools have had a strong influence on the Canadian fabric
for more than 200 years and will continue to do so."
