Cascades supports students by launching its project "Term Projects"

KINGSEY FALLS, QC, Aug. 27 /CNW Telbec/ - On the eve of the 2009-2010
back to school entry, Cascades is innovating by launching its support project
to university students. This concept is based on the involvement of
approximately sixty Cascades employees who, by posting their coordinates on
the company's Web site, are available to provide information to students who
are working on term projects.
Getting information from a chosen organization within the framework of a
term project can sometimes be a very tedious process for students. Their
resources are generally limited to the data they find on the company's Web
site. True to its management style which is geared towards human relations,
Cascades hopes to offset this obstacle by making itself more accessible to
students.
With a simple click or a phone call, the university students will be able
to contact specialized resource persons in engineering, accounting,
information technology and human resources. To identify who they must
communicate with precisely, a quick search on the company's Web site will
suffice, on the basis of their field of study and the campus they are on. "We
have chosen to innovate by structuring our support to these students, in order
to clearly demonstrate our openness as well as to ensure that they receive the
information that is specific to their field of study", stated Eric Beaulieu,
Cascades' Corporate HR Manager.
Because Cascades believes that a quality succession is critical to the
vitality of the company, this project is an addition to the multiple social
actions that it takes in the field of education. Recognized as a large
recruiter of young talent, Cascades hired in 2008 nearly 750 students,
trainees and recent graduates.

tissue products composed mainly of recycled fibres. Cascades employs nearly
13,000 men and women who work in some 100 modern and flexible production units
located in North America and in Europe. Cascades' management philosophy, its
more than 45 years of experience in recycling, its continuous efforts in
research and development are strengths which enable the company to create
innovative products for its customers. The Cascades shares trade on the
Toronto Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol CAS.
