KINGSEY FALLS, QC, Sept. 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Cascades is pleased to announce

by donating $150,000. This announcement is in line with the Centre's major
2008-2012 Corporate Funding campaign, whose goal is to collect $5 M over five
"Cascades has always focused on protecting the environment. Forty-five
years ago, before the term "sustainable development' had even come into being,
we were applying the main principles, concerned about the impact on the
environment, the economy and the social system when we made decisions," stated
Alain Lemaire, President and CEO of Cascades. "The Centre for Sustainable
Development initiative is in line with our values and vision, and it was an
obvious choice for Cascades to get involved with it. It will enable
organizations working to preserve our environment to share their resources.
This synergy will be to their advantage," added Mr. Lemaire.
Sidney Ribaux, President of the Centre, goes even further by pointing out
that "there is a natural link between the Centre for Sustainable Development
and Cascades. Cascades is a pioneer in sustainable development, and we are
proud to be able to count on such a renowned Québec company."
