Carriage horse documentary shows reality of New York City carriage horse industry

Director to be honoured by The Toronto Humane Society

TORONTO, June 16 /CNW/ - While most people assume a carriage ride through
Central park is a quaint way to spend an hour, for the horses who drag those
carriages, it is work in rain, snow, sleet and congested traffic.
New Yorker Donny Moss has created a hard-hitting documentary about the
industry.
That movie, "Blinders," makes its Canadian premiere at the ReelHeART
International Film Festival on Thursday, June 19 (at the University of
Toronto, Innis College). To honour the controversial movie, the THS is hosting
a reception at its main location, 11 River St., on Thursday, June 19 at 11 am.
Director Donny Moss will be on hand to meet the media and take questions.
Media packages, including a CD of hi-rez photos of carriage horses and a
five minute trailer of the movie will be available at the reception.
