CanWest MediaWorks Announces LIVE Coverage of 2007 Champ Car World Series Canadian Events



    Global Television, Fox Sports World Canada to Broadcast Live Coverage

    Beginning Sunday, July 1 @ 2pm ET

    TORONTO, June 21 /CNW/ - CanWest MediaWorks announced today that it is
again on course to provide racing fans their superior speed fix, providing
details surrounding its live coverage of the 2007 Champ Car World Series,
beginning Sunday, July 1 at 2pm ET.
    Global Television presents live coverage of each key Canadian race on the
Circuit - including the inaugural Champ Car Mont-Tremblant (Saint-Jovite, QC)
on July 1; the Steelback Grand Prix of Toronto on July 8; and the Grand Prix
Edmonton on July 22. Each race will also be simulcast on Fox Sports World
Canada.
    Held on road and street courses, the 2007 Champ Car World Series brings
together nine competing teams of the world's best drivers, including Canadians
Paul Tracy and Alex Tagliani. CanWest's coverage includes play-by-play from
host Jeremy Shaw, with Canadian Atlantic driver James Hinchcliffe on board

    The Champ Car World Series features some of the greatest race car drivers
in the world competing in the most exciting series in the world. Champions
Sebastien Bourdais and Canadian Paul Tracy along with international stars
Justin Wilson, Bruno Junqueira and Alex Tagliani as well as rising American
star Graham Rahal are among the drivers who battle for the Vanderbilt Cup,
which is awarded to the winner of the Champ Car World Series. The title is
contested on temporary street circuits and permanent road courses.
