MONTREAL, June 3 /CNW Telbec/ - Canix Colo Inc. ("Canix") today announced
the completion of a more than $12 million investment program in
electro-mechanical infrastructure. Those major improvements were made in
Canix's neutral collocation centres located at 1250 Rene-Levesque West, in
Montreal ("Canix III") and 7171 Jean-Talon East, in Montreal ("Canix IV").
The work performed at Canix III started more than two years ago and
involved numerous technical challenges. It namely consisted in the
installation of additional groups of emergency generators and supplemental
chiller plants totally independent from base building systems.
Canix is constantly looking for innovative solutions for the environment,
and is now the first Canadian company in the collocation industry to install a
chiller plant for server rooms that uses an eco-friendly and sustainable
technology. The new technology implemented in Canix IV will minimize
greenhouse gas emissions and set new standards for the industry in terms of
tons of CO2 per server kilowatt.
"We are proud to have completed these investments and to continue to
provide our customers with industry-leading facilities. We reaffirm our
on-going commitment to serving our customers and partners, making no
compromise", said Stéphane Côté, Canix's President and CEO.
The completion of the investment program reinforces Canix's dominant
position on the Canadian neutral collocation market and is proof of Canix's
strong commitment to designing, implementing and marketing data centers that
comply with the most stringent environmental standards.
