From Mountain Man to Metrosexual - Does Your Guy Need a Makeover?
TORONTO, March 29 /CNW/ - As the saying goes, you only have one chance to
make a first impression and when it comes to perceived confidence, a
clean-shaven man takes the cake. According to a recent survey by Panasonic
Canada/Decima, nearly 60 per cent of Canadians feel a clean shave asserts the
most confidence and style, while bearded men come off as the least
"We spoke with men and women across the country and discovered a
compelling link between facial hair and first impressions," said Gina
Farrugia, Product Manager, Panasonic Canada. "Forget smiles and suits; if
you're hiding behind a beard people might perceive you as less confident."
From stubble to beards, where male grooming habits are concerned 41 per
cent of women surveyed felt the opposite sex could use some assistance, while
only 19 per cent of men admitted to needing some help.
Clean up Your Act!
In light of this grooming debate, Panasonic Canada is offering an
exclusive male makeover contest and shopping spree. The "Clean Up Your Act!"
Makeover contest is an opportunity to spruce up a significant other, father,
friend or family member with a new look courtesy of the Hydra Clean(TM) Series
of wet-dry shavers. He will enjoy a full makeover, including a shopping spree
at the Bay, hair cut and style, dinner out on the town and a new Hydra Clean
shaver to maintain his fabulous new look.
To enter, simply take a photo of your candidate's facial-hair flaw,
bearded disaster or moustache mistake and submit the photo with a description
to www.panasonic.ca between March 30 and April 27. Turn your Grizzly Adams
into a GQ cover model, all in one day!
Not Your Father's Shaver ...
To help Canadian men reveal their 'exterior' confidence, Panasonic Canada
is introducing the very latest in electronic shaving technology with the Hydra
Clean Series. Delivering an extremely close shave, attributed to the world's
most acute angle, the Hydra Clean is equipped with a convenient wet or dry
option, charging station and self-cleaning mode making it ideal for home,
travel or work. Unlike other cleaning systems, this unit does not use an
alcohol based solution. Instead, it uses a water activated detergent, which is
both gentle on the skin and quite portable.
The Panasonic Hydra Clean Series is available in three different models,
with a manufacturer's suggested price of $149.99 up to $299.99. The shavers
will be available this month at The Bay stores across Canada.
