Canadian Tourism Commission and RDEE Canada teaming up to invite whole world to discover Canada!

OTTAWA, Feb. 25 /CNW Telbec/ - Today, the Canadian Tourism Commission
(CTC) and the Réseau de développement économique et d'employabilité du Canada
(RDEE Canada) ratified a partnership agreement that will formalize the
collaborative and mutually strengthening relationships between these two
national organizations in the area of the international promotion of Canadian
products and tourist destinations.
The objectives of this memorandum of co-operation include supporting the
development and implementation of an international tourism marketing strategy
for Francophone and Acadian communities and promoting a concerted approach
involving private and community tourism stakeholders in minority communities.
RDEE Canada and the CTC will be working together mainly in the following
areas: media relations, research to find ways to support tourism businesses in
Francophone and Acadian communities in providing or developing their products
and services, liaison between tourism industry stakeholders, and
communication. In this regard, the parties will be participating in raising
the awareness of federal, provincial and territorial tourism partners with
regard to Canada's tourism and cultural diversity and the added value of the
tourism industry and Francophone and Acadian communities in the Canadian
economy.
"The 2010 Winter Games will accelerate the process of securing
recognition for Canada as a destination offering some of the most
extraordinary experiences in the world," said Chantal Péan, Senior
Vice-President, Corporate Affairs and Corporate Secretary of the CTC. "This
memorandum ensures that we have the content we need to encourage thousands of
journalists to write and broadcast about Canada and its Francophone tourism
products throughout the country."
"RDEE Canada is proud to have developed this special partnership with the
Canadian Tourism Commission. The impact of our actions are sure to benefit our
country, as this collaboration will strengthen Canada's Francophone and
Acadian tourism destinations and products," said Roger Lavoie, Director
General of RDEE Canada. "We want to invite the entire world to explore our
beautiful country!"
