Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas Announces New Vice-President

CALGARY, Sept. 9 /CNW/ - The Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas
(CSUG) is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Heffernan as
Vice-President.
Mr. Heffernan is a professional geologist with more than 30 years
experience in resource development industries. His career has included
assignments across much of Canada, as well as internationally, for oil and
gas, coal, pipeline, and consulting companies. His responsibilities have
spanned geosciences, business development, and planning and strategy. He was
most recently Director, Government and Regulatory for Trident Exploration
Corp, a private company developing natural gas from unconventional sources.
Mr. Heffernan was a member of the Board of Directors of CSUG from 2004 to
2008.
Mr. Heffernan's responsibilities will focus on development and execution
of strategic plans related to stakeholder communication, government relations,
and corporate liaison initiatives. As the Oil and Gas industry moves towards
increased development of natural gas from unconventional sources, specifically
shale gas, tight sands and coal bed gas, these issues are becoming extremely
important and relevant to all concerned parties.

The Canadian Society for Unconventional Gas is a not-for-profit
association that was created to support the responsible exploration and
development of natural gas from unconventional sources in Canada. Its mandate
is to ensure all stakeholders have quality and timely technical and public
information about unconventional gas resources including shale gas, tight gas
sands, natural gas from coal, and gas hydrates.
Join us at the 10th Annual Unconventional Gas Conference, November 19-21,
2008!
