Pickering, Ontario Native Gives In-Studio Concert and Candid Interview at
TORONTO, June 15 /CNW/ - Starting today, AOL Music Canada, a leading
online music destination, presents Sarah Slean, renowned recording artist, in
an exclusive AOL Music Sessions performance.
Filmed in Toronto, the singer-songwriter delivers an exclusive
performance in an intimate setting designed to showcase her raw talent. Slean
also sat down with AOL Music Canada for a candid interview, discussing
everything from her musical heroes and influences, to living abroad and
arranging her own music.
Sarah Slean joins such Sessions alumni as Avril Lavigne, Michael Bublé
and Fall Out Boy. With behind-the-scenes action and exclusive recordings of
some of Sarah's best work from her albums "Orphan Music" (2006) and "Day One"
(2004) Sarah shows us why she's at the peak of the music industry right now.
Some of the exclusive live tracks you'll see include Pilgram, Last Year's War,
and Lucky Me.
When describing her album, Day One, Slean speaks of such themes as ruin,
rebirth, optimism and playfulness. "The image I had in my head was someone
who's broken down and really struggling, dirty and almost spent, crawling but
still going, by the roadside...I wanted the whole flavour of the record to be
revolutionary - a really strident awakening, one that occurs after a great
amount of sorrow and destruction," she says.
