Accreditation applications for Canadian media now available
VANCOUVER, April 30 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Paralympic Committee
(CPC) is now accepting media accreditation applications from Canadian print,
Internet and radio journalists, as well as photographers for the Vancouver
2010 Paralympic Games which will run from March 12-21, 2010 in Vancouver and
The Paralympic Games are an international multi-sport event for elite
athletes with a physical disability.
Approximately 40 Canadian athletes from across the nation will compete in
Vancouver 2010, the first Paralympic Winter Games to be held in Canada. The
2010 Paralympic Games will attract 600 para-athletes from 40 countries, to
compete in para-alpine skiing, biathlon, cross-country skiing, ice sledge
hockey and wheelchair curling.
With Canadian athletes currently world champions in four of the five
Paralympic winter sports, Canada can look forward to having its most
competitive team ever at a Winter Games, and achieving its goal of finishing
in the top three nations overall.
This is the only opportunity for non-rights holding Canadian print,
Internet and radio journalists, as well as photographers to apply for
accreditation to cover the Vancouver 2010 Paralympic Winter Games. The
categories for accreditation are as follows: "E" Journalists (print, online
and non-rights holding radio journalists) and "EP" Photographers. Applications
for accreditation must be accompanied by:
1. A signed letter of assignment on official letterhead of a recognized
media organization from the publisher, assignment editor or bureau
chief. It must specify the name and functional title of the applicant.
A contact must also be provided for the publisher, assignment editor

2. Two articles from a newspaper, magazine, trade magazine, other
publication or online article with byline that has been published
within the last year. Radio reporters should present recordings or a
transcript of two recent reports that have aired within the last year.
