Air Canada and Tim Hortons help create lasting memories for 40 deserving
BOUCHERVILLE, QC, May 17 /CNW Telbec/ - Breakfast Clubs of Canada serves
up breakfast to tens of thousands of students every day in school
breakfast programs across Canada. But from May 20 to 23, they'll be
doing more than just putting a good meal on the table. They'll be
cooking up an unforgettable camp experience for 40 kids from across
Canada, an experience that will foster their leadership skills, develop
their confidence and build their self-esteem.
Breakfast Clubs of Canada counts on its generous partners to help carry
out its mission. Air Canada and its employees have been part of the
Breakfast Clubs story since the beginning, and through its Air Canada
Kids' Horizons program, the company is providing air travel to the 30
children out of 40 attending Leadership Camp. What's more, 9 Air Canada
employee volunteers will also be on hand to help with the many
activities on the agenda. This exciting adventure is also being made
possible thanks to the Tim Horton Children's Foundation, which has
generously provided its beautiful campsite in Parry Sound, Ontario, for
this unforgettable weekend.
Leadership Camp: building dreams and self-esteem
Breakfast Clubs of Canada aims to give all children an equal chance to
start their school day with a nutritious breakfast in an environment
that promotes self-esteem. Earlier this year, Breakfast Clubs asked
teachers and principals across Canada to nominate students between the
ages of 10 and 14 who have distinguished themselves by their commitment
to or involvement with their peers, their schools and their
communities. Building on the idea of nurturing children's self-esteem,
Breakfast Clubs then developed the Leadership Camp and invited these
students to submit their applications for the chance to be part of an
incredible camp experience. The leadership camp framework puts the
accent on each child's individual strengths and dreams, and over the
course of four days, each camper will take part in challenges including
outdoor activities, music, dance, and much more that will allow them to
discover the best in themselves.
Donating Aeroplan miles helps kids get there faster!
Every day, Canadians donate their Aeroplan miles to Air Canada Kids'
Horizons to support its work improving the lives of children. On May 18, 2011, Aeroplan is giving Canadians a chance to double their good deeds! On
that day, Aeroplan will match all miles donated from its members,
helping Kids' Horizons provide even more support to charitable
organizations focused on the health and well-being of children, like
Breakfast Clubs of Canada. To donate, visit www.aeroplan.com.
