TORONTO, Oct. 9 /CNW/ - Canadian Idol finalist, Martha Joy, is set to
headline a special concert to thank her fans for their support on Sunday
November 11, 2007 at the Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts.
Proceeds from the concert will be donated to the Sunnybrook Veterans'
Wing in honour of Remembrance Day. Martha will also pay a special visit to the
veterans on Thursday, November 8th to pay her respects.
Produced in association with Lenz Entertainment, the concert event will
feature Martha singing cover and original songs, along with a guest appearance
by famed tenor Larry Tozer and a special performance by Martha's high school
choir from Cardinal Carter Academy for the Arts Choir in Toronto.
"I'm so excited about this concert," says 16 year-old Joy. "My fans have
been so supportive, especially within the Filipino community. I am thrilled to
have the opportunity to perform for them and show my appreciation for the
strength they've given me."
The concert will be a follow up to Joy's successful run on Canadian Idol
2007, where she finished in the Top Ten. With striking beauty and a powerhouse
voice, Martha quickly became a fan favourite throughout the Idol competition,
and her diverse cultural background (her father is Portuguese and her mother
is Filipino) made her a darling of several ethnic communities in the Greater

Filipino community, the concert will be held at the George Weston Recital Hall
at The Toronto Centre for the Performing Arts. It will begin at 7:30 p.m.
