Canadian Forces presence at the International Balloon Festival

    SAINT-JEAN-SUR-RICHELIEU, QC, Aug. 9 /CNW Telbec/ - It is with a lot of
enthusiasm that Canadian Forces (CF) members welcome you to their theme tent
during the 25th edition of the International Balloon Festival to be held in
Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, from 9 to 17 August 2008.
"We are very happy this year to offer a joint representation of the
Canadian Forces" stated Brigadier-General Guy Laroche, commander Joint Task
Forces East. Among other, visitors will have the opportunity to sit in a real
CF-18 fighter jet cockpit, see a Mark 46 torpedo and climb into Light armoured
vehicle (LAV) III used by the Army.
At the CF tent, visitors will also be able to see various gear and
equipment such as the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), as well as helmets
equipped with night vision goggles. The Navy will also be present with a
special bus fitted to simulate compartments of a warship. Visitors will have
the opportunity to meet members of the Canadian Forces who serve in Canada and
abroad.
