QUEBEC CITY, June 13 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Forces will be
performing and presenting displays as part of the 2008 Québec Familiprix
International Air Show, which will be held at Jean-Lesage International
Airport from June 13 to 15.
"We are very pleased that all of the Canadian Forces elements will be
represented this year," said Brigadier-General Christian Barabé, Commander of
Joint Task Force (East). In addition to the colourful Snowbirds show, the
public will have the chance to take in a performance by the SkyHawks Parachute
Team and watch an exciting demonstration featuring a CF-18 Hornet decorated in
honour of Quebec City's 400th and NORAD's 50th anniversary. Air-show attendees
will also get to see the fleet's new addition, the CC-177 Globemaster III.
In the kiosk area, the Canadian Forces will be displaying numerous pieces
of equipment, including an uninhabited aerial vehicle (UAV). Several vehicles
used by the Land Force will also be on view, with the Light Armoured Vehicle
III--which is currently used in Afghanistan--among them. Moreover, the
Canadian Navy will be on hand with the dive team from HMCS Montcalm. The
public will have the opportunity to meet CF members, including some who
recently participated in Canada's Joint Task Force in Afghanistan.
The members of the Canadian Forces are proud to be participating in the
Québec Familiprix International Air Show and they hope to see a good turnout,
as the audience is key to the show's success.
