Canadian Dermatology Association: Free, public skin cancer screenings offered by Edmonton dermatologists, Edmonton City Centre East Mall, Tuesday June 9, 2009, 11 am to 2 pm



    EDMONTON, June 4 /CNW/ - The public is invited to a free skin cancer
screening and sun awareness event at Edmonton City Centre East Mall, on
Tuesday June 9, 2009, from 11 am to 2 pm.
    The event, hosted by the Canadian Dermatology Association, happens at the
start of National Sun Awareness Week, June 8 - 14, 2009.
    This year's focus is melanoma, a less common but serious form of skin
cancer which will affect 5,000 people this year and cause 940 deaths. It is
highly curable (90%) if found early.
    Those worried about spots or moles on their skin, or who have had a lot
of sun exposure through outdoor work or recreational activities, are also
encouraged to come down for a free, private screening.

    protection info.

    When and where: Tuesday June 9, 2009, 11 am to 2 pm, Edmonton City Centre
    East Mall, 10205 - 101 St, a vacant retail outlet located on the Main
    Floor near TD Bank.
