Canadian Chef David Adjey to compete on Iron Chef America



    TORONTO, Sept. 15 /CNW/ - Food & Beverage News - The Chef Network Inc.
has announced that David Adjey has been selected as a challenger on the
popular series Iron Chef America. Adjey will compete against Iron Chef Michael
Symon - both graduates of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New
York.
    "Iron Chef is an incredibly competitive gastronomic battle and it will be
thrilling to be a part of the competition, and to represent Canada on a
culinary world stage," said Adjey. "I focus a number of my recipes on simple,
fresh ingredients," said Adjey. "I believe a dish is the sum of a series of
elements - colour, taste and originality. I take inspiration from my love of
design and nature."
    David Adjey has received recognition in Canada for his straightforward
approach to cooking. He is well known for his "tough guy" image on Food
Network's Restaurant Makeover. David competes with the best and for the first
time, is able to show off his true culinary style with over 90 million people
watching.
    David has chosen sous chefs Andrew Bradford of Jacob's Restaurant and
Rendel Mercer of The Spoke Club located in Toronto.
    The general public will have the opportunity to view this exciting
episode of Iron Chef America challenge on Food Network on October 5, 2008 -
9pm ET/10pm PT.
