Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation provides Canadians with enhanced, updated information about breast health and breast cancer

Canadians can visit www.cbcf.org/breastcancer for reliable and
comprehensive information about breast cancer and breast health

TORONTO, Sept. 27 /CNW/ - In time for breast cancer awareness month, the
Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation has introduced enhanced, updated information
about breast health and breast cancer on its website at www.cbcf.org. Compiled
from a variety of current sources and reviewed by breast cancer experts, this
information provides comprehensive overviews of a wide range of breast health
and breast cancer topics, including causes and risk factors, early detection,
and living with and beyond the disease.
"We know from consultations and conversations with women, healthcare
providers, and others with a connection to breast cancer that there is a
common need for reliable information about all aspects of breast cancer and
breast health," said Sharon Wood, CEO, Ontario Region, Canadian Breast Cancer
Foundation. "We wanted to respond to this need with credible and trusted
information that people could access as a starting point to learning more."
As an example, topics addressed in the section about living with breast
cancer include emotions, relationships, sexuality, pregnancy and fertility,
children, and financial issues. Also available is information about "being
breast aware" and how this method of checking one's breasts relates to breast
self-examination. In all areas, links to other reliable information sources
are provided so people can find out as much information as they need - from
what causes breast cancer and how to deal with it, to statistical information
about the prevalence of breast cancer in Canada and the progress being made.
To access breast health and breast cancer information on the Canadian
Breast Cancer Foundation's website, visit www.cbcf.org and click on "breast
cancer." This section of the website is currently available in English and
will soon be available in French.
