Canadian Aerospace Community pleased with Conservative Party's commitment to increase funds to the Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative



    OTTAWA, Oct. 7 /CNW Telbec/ - The Canadian Aerospace Industry welcomes
the commitment made today by Prime Minister Stephen Harper to increase the
Strategic Aerospace and Defence Initiative by 200 millions $ over four years.
"A strong innovation champion, the aerospace industry is undoubtedly one of
Canada's manufacturing sectors success stories and significant contributor to
the economies of communities across our nation. It however faces steep
challenges all of which have to be addressed in an effective and comprehensive
way if we are to maintain our world leadership. We are delighted that the
Conservative Party of Canada has decided to address one of the industry's main
concerns in its political platform" said Dr Claude Lajeunesse, President and
CEO of AIAC.
