CHARLOTTETOWN, June 25 /CNW/ - The Canada Pavilion will be featured at
the Atlantic Superstore Festival of Lights from June 28 to July 1, 2008.
"The Government of Canada is pleased to present the Canada Pavilion to
the Atlantic Superstore Festival of Lights" said the Honourable Michael
M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services Canada. "The
Pavilion, which provides an opportunity for Canadians to meet with government
representatives, is an excellent way for Canadians to learn more about their
Various programs and activities will be featured at the Canada Pavilion,
including activities surrounding this year's theme, the Great Canadian North.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about this territory which
covers a large area of Canada, through educational displays such as an
iceberg, a giant circumpolar map and the creation of an inuksuk. As well,
visitors will be able to have their picture taken in a sea kayak.
In addition, visitors will learn about their rights and responsibilities
when dealing with financial products and services, how to avoid fraud when
donating to non-profit organizations, and much more.
Visitors can also meet the Canada Pavilion's mascot named Bravo, who will
be around to entertain the young and young at heart. Come and discover the
federal programs and services available by visiting the Canada Pavilion at the
Atlantic Superstore Festival of Lights.
In 2008-2009, the Canada Pavilion will be visiting 10 Canadian
communities across Canada. As the flagship exhibit of the Government of Canada
Exhibitions Program, the Pavilion has won a number of prizes since its
creation in 2000, and provided information to more than six million visitors.
