Canada Day in Lachine: Pascale Picard presents Me, myself & us and Turn it on again brings Genesis back to life at Parc Saint-Louis

MONTREAL, June 29 /CNW Telbec/ - To celebrate Canada Day, young artist
Pascale Picard and a Genesis tribute show, Turn it on again, will take the
stage at Parc Saint-Louis (Saint-Joseph Boulevard, on the corner of
34th Avenue) on Sunday July 1.

    Pascale Picard, 8:30 p.m.

Already considered one of the year's hottest new performers, Pascale
Picard is the figurehead of a dynamic band. The young songwriter deftly weaves
modern folk-pop colours through alternative textures. The process results in
solid compositions and bold strings stacked on rock solid foundations.
With her guitar, Picard surfs through 12 contemporary tracks that either
shake or comfort the audience. The young artist was discovered last fall when
her highly personal opus, Me, myself & us, a powerful and engaging first
record, was launched on radio stations. The first single, titled Gate 22,
quickly climbed to the top of the Québec English Top 50, where it remained for
12 weeks.
Reminiscent of Ani DiFranco and Alanis Morissette, Pascale Picard is also
an outstanding live performer.

Turn it on again, 9:30 p.m.

Turn it on again show, with Martin Levac, is a trip back in time to the
best years of Genesis. Following in the footsteps of the 80's British
progressive rock band, the five musicians band faithfully revisit the greatest
hits of Genesis' Phil Collins era.
The singer's uncanny resemblance to Phil Collins is mind-boggling. With
the same energy, humour, vocal stylings and famous drum duos, he manages to
deliver a disconcertingly precise performance. Nothing is left to chance:
atmosphere, costumes, sound, instruments, lighting, everything has been
carefully thought out to bring the audience back to the very best moments of
Genesis.

Admission to the two shows is free. Following the entertainment, a
fireworks display will take place at 11 p.m.
