Calvalley Petroleum Inc. Announces Additions to its Management Team



    CALGARY, Nov. 19 /CNW Telbec/ - Calvalley Petroleum Inc., (TSX: CVI.A)

    Calvalley Petroleum Inc. (the "Company" or "Calvalley"), an international
oil and gas exploration and production company based in Calgary, Alberta, is
pleased to announce the following appointments to its management team in
Calgary.

    Mr. Bill Cummins, Chief Financial Officer - Mr. Cummins is a Chartered
Accountant with over 20 years of experience. His international background has
spanned 10 years, including 7 years as the senior financial executive of an
international joint venture which grew to over 75,000 barrels of production
per day. For the past 6 years, Mr. Cummins was the Vice President, Corporate
Finance and Director of an independently owned brokerage firm. During this
period, he focused on raising capital for public and private companies,
primarily in the oil and gas sector. Mr. Cummins also provided advisory
services which assisted in the evaluation and acquisition of petroleum
exploration permits in various countries. His professional career began with a
major international accounting firm where he received his CA designation and
progressed to senior manager of the oil and gas audit department. Mr. Cameron
Dow, who has been the acting Chief Financial Officer for Calvalley since
November, 2005, will continue to provide financial services to the Company
going forward.
    Mr. Grant Harms, Vice President of Engineering and Operations - Mr. Harms
has 26 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. His domestic
experience includes a wide range of engineering, operations, management and
business development experience in gas, conventional oil and heavy oil. Most
recently Mr. Harms co-founded and acted as the Chief Operating Officer and
Vice President of Production for Los Altares Resources Ltd., a private company
that grew from a start-up to 500 barrels of oil equivalent per day in western
Canada prior to its merger with Compass Petroleum. Mr. Harms also brings over
seven years of international experience in Indonesia, Russia and Kazakhstan to
Calvalley, where he held roles involving both technical and executive
management responsibilities. Mr. Harms has a Bachelor of Science degree in
Mechanical Engineering from the University of Waterloo.
    Mr. Terry McCoy, Vice President of Exploration - Mr. McCoy, a University
of Calgary graduate (Bachelor of Science, Geology), brings over 37 years of
senior oil and gas executive experience to Calvalley. Mr. McCoy has held the
position of Vice President of Exploration and Land at Murphy Oil Company as
well as Vice President of Exploration and Land at Poco Petroleums Ltd. and
Burlington Resources Canada Ltd. Mr. McCoy also held the title of President of
Burlington Resources Canada Ltd. Prior to 1990, Mr. McCoy held executive
positions at Columbia Gas Development of Canada Ltd., Conwest Exploration Co.
Ltd., Union Oil Co. of Canada and Amoco Canada Resources.
    Mr. Geoff Martin, Manager of Geophysics - Mr. Martin graduated from
Memorial University of Newfoundland with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in
Geology and has a Master of International Management from the American
Graduate School of International Management. Mr. Martin has as great deal of
international oil and gas experience, including experience in the Latin
America pipeline sector, sales and marketing with Chinese companies, data
management in Canada and the Middle East, and exploration experience in the
Arctic, Australia, offshore Vietnam and Papua New Guinea, China, Libya, Mexico
and several other international locations.
    Mr. Lorne LeClerc, Manager of Exploration - Mr. LeClerc holds a Bachelor
of Science in Geology from the University of Alberta and has a great deal of
experience in the international oil and gas industry. Mr. LeClerc has
participated in a variety of projects throughout the Middle East and North
Africa. Specifically, Mr. LeClerc has worked on projects in Yemen and Tunisia,
and his extensive knowledge and experience in Yemen will be a valuable asset
to Calvalley and its Block 9 joint venture.

    Calvalley is excited about the addition of these individuals to its
management team and expects that the vast international business and life
experience that they bring will assist the Company in fulfilling its mandate
of growth beyond its current operations.
