advised by the company that several corrections have been made regarding the
titles and previous positions of Robert G. Dinnings and Peter G. Wilson.
Additional information has also been provided about resignations from the

    VANCOUVER, Aug. 26 /CNW/ -- Vancouver, B.C., Canada, August 26th, 2009 --
 Gold Star Resources Corp. (TSX-V; GXX; OTC Bulletin Board:   GXXFF;
www.goldstarresources.com)  today announced  that Peter G. Wilson, President
of Hana Mining Ltd. (TSXV:HMG), and Robert G. Dinning C.A., a Director of
Paramount Gold & Silver Corp. have joined GXX's Board of Directors. Mr. Wilson
has extensive experience in project development, finance and contract
negotiations, as well as strategic planning within the energy resource and
mining industries.  Mr. Dinning is a Chartered Accountant with 40 years
experience in both the public and private sector.  The Company has accepted
the resignations from the Board by Ping Shen and Ian Bartholemew, whom Mr.
Wilson and Mr. Dinning have replaced.

    Gold Star Resources is a Canadian oil and gas exploration company focused
on seeking onshore opportunities in the petroleum systems of West Africa.

    Morris also praised the appointment of Robert Dinning to the Gold Star
Resources Board.

consulting business for the past 30 years and he brings effective management
and administrative experience to Gold Star.  His proven record of success in
the financial community includes being a Director and/or Officer of several
public companies, including Industrial Mineral Inc., ATAC Resources Ltd.,
Rockhaven Resources Ltd., Apolo Gold & Energy and Sonora Gold & Silver Ltd.
Mr. Dinning resides in Vancouver, B.C., Canada.

    Gold Star Resources has emerged onto the West Africa scene in the past
few months seeking onshore acreage in Liberia, Cote d'Ivoire and Ghana.  The
company recently announced a Letter-of-Intent with Bengal Bight Ghana Ltd., a
Ghanaian company, to acquire 100% interest in the hydrocarbon rights of
Bengal's 1,000 sq. km. Tiampoum mining concession in Cote d'Ivoire, near the
border with Ghana. Gold Star acquired 90% of the Liberian, West African
company International Resource Strategies Liberia Energy Inc., whose sole
asset is the onshore 1,366 sq. km. hydrocarbon reconnaissance license NR-001
