Awards celebrate the outstanding voluntary contribution by CMA Ontario
members to the wider community
TORONTO, Oct. 31 /CNW/ - CMA Ontario, and its 20,000 members, is proud to
announce that Wayne Clarke, CMA, of Burlington is named as one of two
recipients of the Society's 2007 "Community Service Award".
Established in 1990, the CMA Ontario Community Service Award recognizes
the meritorious voluntary service of members, and seeks to encourage all
members in their commitment to community service.
This special honour is bestowed on members who have demonstrated the
attributes of selflessness and kindness for the benefit of others. Award
recipients are nominated by fellow CMAs and approved by the Ontario Board of
Governors, who have recognized their outstanding sustained service to their
Each Community Service Award (CSA) recipient selects a charity, or
charities, of their choice to receive $1,000 in the CSA recipient's name.
Mr. Clarke, now retired, volunteers the majority of his time with the
Burlington Scouts Group Committee. He has held numerous positions such as
Chair, District Executive, Treasurer, Advisor, Councillor and Ranger for the
past 29 years. In 2006 Wayne received the Medal of Merit from Scouts Canada in
appreciation and admiration for the hard, dedicated work carried out as a
volunteer. Adding to his community duties, Wayne in late 2006 became the
Treasurer of the Hamilton and District Ostomy Association. The Association
serves as a support group for people who have undergone a variety of surgeries
that involved some type of ostomy.
Mr. Clark has chosen Scouts Canada and the Ostomy Association of Ontario
to receive $500 each of his CSA award.
