CALGARY, Jan. 15 /CNW/ - Apprentices who drive off in search of donuts
when they should be fetching parts for their boss. Restaurant workers who load
themselves into a scalding industrial dishwasher. Tradesmen who endure
rib-cracking falls off ladders because the helpers supposed to hold them in
place wander off.
These are some of the prize-winning accounts uncovered in a recent
contest by Build Your Work Force ULC, an Alberta-based international employee
recruiting company active throughout western Canada.
"This kind of behaviour by employees drives employers crazy, making them
decide they have to build a better workforce," says Ken Hantman, founder and
president of Build Your Work Force. "That's where we come in. We recruit
qualified, eager, ethical people in international labour markets who want to
come to Canada."
Hantman today also announced the launch of a new contest. This one is
asking employers to relate the best, kindest, most helpful or most thoughtful
thing an employee ever did. As in the previous contest, the top stories will
earn Gold, Silver and three Bronze awards plus cash prizes of $1,000, $300 and
Comments Hantman: "We hope that by helping western Canadian companies in
building a better workforce, we'll see fewer of the first kinds of stories -
and far more of the second kind."
