Bridgewater Systems Invited to Join Prestigious Sun Microsystems Sun Sales Connect Program

Joins Sun's Unified Network Platform Reference Architecture for WiMAX

BARCELONA, Spain, Feb. 13 /CNW/ - Bridgewater Systems (TSX:BWC) today
announced it has been invited to join the Sun Sales Connect Program to jointly
pursue opportunities with telecommunications operators.
Through this program, Sun and Bridgewater will enable joint customers to
benefit from the most current performance innovations afforded by Sun's
systems, software and services coupled with Bridgewater's industry-leading
network access control and policy management software.
As part of the program, Bridgewater is to date, the only policy
management ISV chosen by Sun to join Sun's WiMAX ecosystem - the Sun Unified
Network Platform Reference Architecture for WiMAX. Bridgewater is a leading
provider of network access control solutions in WiMAX, selected by more than
seven service providers around the world, including two Tier 1 North American
operators. Bridgewater's WiMAX solutions are access network and equipment
vendor agnostic, enabling service providers to easily deploy in mixed network
environments and accelerate time to market.
"The Sun Sales Connect program provides leading ISVs with new resources
and services for better collaborating and coordinating on sales opportunities
with Sun and its extended sales community," said Darrell Jordan-Smith, vice
president, communications and media practice at Sun Microsystems. "With this
program, Sun and Bridgewater are widening their sales pipeline, collaborating
on joint selling opportunities and expanding the customer base."
Bridgewater was selected by Sun due to its strong reputation and
leadership in the telecommunications industry. The company's carrier-grade
subscriber-centric policy management solutions are already deployed on Sun
hardware in more than 90 service provider networks, providing the scalability
and performance to support the most demanding service provider deployments.
"Being selected by Sun as part of their ecosystem validates the
importance of high performance network access control and policy management as
essential service enablement components in a carrier-grade service provider
infrastructure," said Tyler Nelson, vice president, business development and
marketing, Bridgewater Systems. "We already enjoy a synergistic relationship
with Sun for our customers, and look forward to closer collaboration through
this program to meet the stringent demands of service providers."
